I really like the website but only one thing i wish there were some games .For us to play on.Made by the I.C.T club, and maybe a pupil zone which every year pupils from around the school make a backgroud then send it in to our website. The ict club will vote which one will be chosen for the background of the page.

Hello everyone at Shirenewton,

I attended this school all the way back in 1994 - with my two brothers. I don't suppose any of the teachers that were there when i attended are still there? My year 6 teacher was Mrs Slack, Year 5 I had Mrs Bradshaw and the head teacher at the time was Mr Scammell. It's great to see pictures on the website and even better that there is a website so i can sit and reminice all these years later. I have never been as happy at school as i was at Shirenewton and i am glad to see it is still as great as it always was!!! Well done Carolyn xXx

I have just come across this excellent web site.
I opened the school in September 1985 and was head until 2002. Previously head of Mynyddbach School 1980 -1985. I thoroughly enjoyed looking at the guestbook, remembering so many past pupils was very enjoyable.
I am so glad to see that the good work continues

I started at Shirenewton in year 1 when it opened. It is nice to see that it is still a beautiful primary school. I was in the first musicals, Joseph, Annie and Oliver - it really started my love of musicals and singing. It is lovely to see that Mrs Morris is still there. I am now expecting my first child and just hope that I can send them to a primary school as inspiring as Shirenewton.

Hello Everyone at Shirenewton, I was really impressed by your website - it is brilliant. I work in a primary school in North London and at the moment I am doing a CSBM course. I was thinking about trying to create a website for my case study. Now I have seen yours I am definately going to give it a try. Anyone at your school got any tips they can share. This web site is really interesting - seeing all those comments from past and present pupils. I loved teaching at Shirenewton. The reception class I first taught there are now in secondary school. Does time go quickly or what? But I still see quite a few of you in and around Chepstow looking a great deal older than when I taught you. Strangely, I myself have not aged at all.

Hi Shirenewton Primary - left shirenewton in 2001 then going on to Chepstow Comprehensive. For those who might remember me I began seriously playing music just after i began secondary school: mainly guitar, drums and saxaphone. I have played in bands for the past few years and am really enjoying it. Would like to hear from anyone who was in my year at school - or anyone who knows me - See ya!

Hello everybody!

We are members of the class that left in 1997. We're all off to university in the summer, it doesn't seem that long ago that we left!

We have all been looking at the site, so interesting to see how its all changed. Just one question on everyone's lips, where is the skipping area? so many changes, it seems even better than when we were there! Please could you say hi to Mrs Mitchell, Penman and Morris who should remember us all! (as will mrs slack if she is there?) Website looks good, nice to see photos of what everything is like now,

Best wishes to all,

Thanks for your hospitality and time Mr king - what a gem of a school you have! It's great to see ICT being used by students in an active/interactive way rather than 'on' them. Best wishes for your future work. I'll be looking forward to watching your journey.

What a great website! It was lovely to learn all about your school! I really like Dai the Dragon, he's very well travelled isn't he?! And he's welcome to visit the news studios at HTV any time with some of his school friends! Congratulations on all the fantastic fundraising you're doing for charity too - keep up the good work all round everyone! Lots of love, Lucy x

Fantastic website! Well done to all of you. It's bright, well-designed, easy to navigate and a pleasure to use. Perfect! Thanks for emailing me, it's always nice to get emails from Wales. Diolch yn fawr. Huw.

15 July 2003 00:00:00
What a bright, colourful, happy website - congratulations from Countryfile to everyone at Shirenewton school who's involved with it.. ..and isn't Dai a well-travelled dragon. How times have changed. When I started presenting Newsround in the 1970s, schools (and television news bulletins) used cardboard to make all their graphics. Look what you can do now!
Very best wishes
John Craven, BBC-TV Countryfile.

What a great website ... and what a strange looking bunch of teachers you've got ! I used to be a teacher myself (many, many years ago !) but my school wasn't as pretty as yours. And we certainly didn't have a cool website. In fact, we didn't even have computers ! Lots of love to all of you and thanks for letting me know about your fantastic website. It's cool !

As an educational consultant in Perth, Australia, I regularly assist teachers to arrange exchanges with school is the UK and England. Your website is by far the best British school website I have seen (and I look at many). It has provided much information about Wales and the UK. All the best, maybe I shall be in closer contact in the future.

An excellent site - certain pupils to whom I teach guitar privately encouraged me to visit the site. It's very clear and informative. Clearly a well run school and a credit to staff parents and pupils ......certainly reflected in their learning approach.

(ed. Sorry Ellie, of course it's a cabbage! In Year 6 we're good at recognising congruent shapes but when it comes to vegetables we sometimes get confused......we're very sorry)
